Covid-19 Edmonton Wedding Photographer At The End of the World
It’s strange how quickly we’ve all taken on a new vocabulary: social distancing, self-isolation, quarantine. And, now, I can add Covid-19 Edmonton Wedding Photographer to my resume.
Certainly, maintaining distance presents challenges to more traditional wedding portraits. I shifted into Pandemic Photography mode (though, a few short months ago that was not a style that I was familiar with). But, I love a challenge! I recently did a Zoom session, yes, a session through Zoom, with former wedding clients. It’s a new world, friends.
Rhoda and Stephen fully embraced this new world at The End of The World in Edmonton, Alberta where they held their small wedding ceremony. No more than 15 people, to be exact. And no fewer than 6 feet between each family group. Despite these safety measures and rules, there was no limit on the number of smiles or happy tears and absolutely no restrictions on the amount of love.
Even though Rhoda and Stephen had originally planned to be married in Hawaii—with 80+ guests—they absolutely made the most of their elopement in Edmonton (and, will renew their vows, Aloha style, at a later date). The good folks at Popup Weddings YEG held a Covd-19 wedding special, which included, as a part of the package, a live stream to be shared with those that were unable to attend. It’s brilliant! And Rhoda and Stephen also added an Ampersand Grey film to their package, which is something we are offering in our 2020 weddings that adds another way to document the day.
This gorgeous End of the World wedding, on a sun-shiny spring day, where friends and family stood together (but apart), to celebrate the love of Rhoda and Stephen, will remain one of the most memorable weddings that I’ve had the privilege to photograph.
We can be six-feet apart and still be completely surrounded by love.
That’s a lesson I want to take with me going forward. Maybe you’re at the end of someone’s driveway. Or sitting on the tailgates of your cars across the parking lot. Or maybe you’re looking into screens. We are all in this together. And some things, like love, won’t change.
This wedding was planned by the amazing people at Popup Weddings YEG. Sevy and Valérie are such great humans. Thank you for including us in your little social distanced Covid 19 wedding day and a big congratulations to Rhoda and Stephen!
