Lily lake wedding photographer – Rainy Day Magic
Lily lake alberta wedding photographer Ampersand Grey features this ALL HEART wedding of Shelly and Chris. Lily Lake Resort—a quiet, peaceful place to retreat near Legal, Alberta—was such a great location for this full wedding day.
Nature provided a dramatic background: moody skies, grey clouds stark against bright canola fields, rutted pathways and deep, deep greens. All of the Alberta bests. And, while you can never really plan for the weather, you can definitely rejoice when it waits to turn until after the outdoor ceremony and couple’s portraits!
If you’d rather see some highlights in motion with music, head on over to view their slideshow!
Love provided the full-faced smiles, sweet details like the baby’s breath in glass jars, cozy indoor time complete with glitter tattoos and a piñata, and a full-out dance party! Love also provided the memorial brooch, tucked into Chris suit jacket—a sweet reminder of his mom, a gift that moved us all. I told you: all. heart.
Before a wedding day, as I prepare to photograph this milestone event, I have the couple fill out a wedding questionnaire. Among other things, it helps me to get a feel for the day in advance, plan, and ensure I am able to capture what is most important to the couple.
Shelly and Chris noted that they wanted their guests to feel included, loved, comfortable, and excited to dance. Check, check, check and check! It’s easy to capture the love surrounding a couple when it is so obvious that they attract that sort of big love – and it’s so easy to see how, just look at that light-up-the-room smile on Shelly’s face or the way that Chris reacted when first seeing his bride walk toward him down the aisle. All. Heart.
