Whitemud Creek Community Centre wedding
I’m so excited to share this Whitemud Creek Community Centre wedding of Kathryn & Adam.
In front of a hexagon arbour adorned with bright hand picked sunflowers at the Whitemud Creek Community Centre in Edmonton, Alberta—Adam waited for Kathryn to join him to exchange wedding vows. In front of family and close friends, on a bright sun-shiny summer day in July, Kathryn walked toward Adam.
Flashback to the first day of medical school: Kathryn and Adam, enrolled in the same program, were each walking home. They were walking in the same direction, because, as it turns out, they lived on the same block! They started chatting, and even though they hid their developing romance from their classmates at the University of Alberta for a while, it soon became clear that this was the real deal and Adam wasn’t a creepy stalker following her home after all!
Since these two opted not to do a ‘first look,’ as Kathryn walked toward her partner, and all eyes were on her in her stunning vintage-inspired gown, I was able to capture Adam’s reaction: raw, real, and so, so moving.
These moments, the handful of times in life where times just stops, where you feel everything, and no matter what is happening around you, you’re absolutely present, are The Moments. You’re held there by everything that lead up to this point, and you’re anticipating everything that is to come.
Adam and Kathryn knew that after their wedding they were going to have a busy year ahead—and of course… two hard-working doctors! They knew that because of their programs they would be spending some time apart, and so they wanted their wedding photographs to get them through and let them look back to feel it all again. I couldn’t help but feel privileged to be able to capture this gorgeous day, in all its bright-faced, full-smiles, sunflowers-in-front-of the-pond glory!
